Integrating Documentum with Windows Domain Authentication

Hi,

Does any one integrated Documentum running on AIX server with Windows Domain Authentication?

We are planning to integrate Documentum with Windows domain authentication... we are using Documentum 6.5 SP1 running on AIX 6.1... I am going through the instructions provided in Content Server Admin Guide...

First step is to obtain the GNU SMB library .... I downloaded library (pam_smb) from http://us1.samba.org/samba/ftp/pam_smb/old-devel/ .... my question is that is that right library for AIX?

I would really appreciate if some one answer my question.

What do you mean by LDAP server is not functional? Mostly all AD domains support LDAP protocol. You can test it by using ldp.exe or ldapbrowser on any other machine connecting to the domain. We just need read/browse access and server uses LDAP protocol. AD works/functions like LDAP server when you use LDAP protocol.

Just verify this and if it does not work then Samba way would the only option left.

Is this active directory windows domain that you are trying to authenticate against? Then better use LDAP authentication.

Yes, we are trying to use Active directory... we checked with the server team here I came to know that LDAP server is not fully functional and we will be able to integrate with it by mid of next year... till that time we want to authenticate users against Active directory.

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

This is maybe slightly off topic but what we are doing in our next iteration of the project is to use Kerberos and integrate that with CAS (Central Authentication Service) and have a SoulWing component in each application server running Tomcat and either of our Documentum web clients. A proxy maintains the ticket across applications. The idea is that the user only has to login to Windows and then the rest i seamless Single-Sign-On. The ticket that is generated by CAS is automatically renewed by the Kerberos bridge and the user never sees any login screens in any web clients.
