D6.5 SP1 Error Messages

Hi all,

Is there any Documentum 6.5 SP1 Error Message Reference? I am looking for a list of error codes and resolution/information on why that error would occur.

I tried old google but only came across a site that covers the d5.3 error messages http://www.dmdeveloper.com/articles/programming/messages53.html

Some examples of errors I am seeing:

     DFC_OBJPROTO_ATTRIBUTE_MISMATCH

     DFC_OBJECT_BADATTRVALUE

I guess it's going to depend on what you're looking for in an error reference.  The DFC Javadocs are going to contain some references to the errors, mostly because they are static strings.  There are various .property files inside the JARs that also contain references to errors but also for localization purposes.

I'm going out on a limb and say that you're looking for some kind of reference that says when I get DFC_OBJECT_BADATTRVALUE, it means x and to solve the problem you need to do y.  I'd love to say that something out there exists that is comprehensive, but the closest you're going to get is using a combination of Powerlink, ECN, the product manuals and some intuition.

Sigh... if I had the time I'd write something up.  This would be a great wiki project to start.  (hint hint)

Without looking at your code or knowing more about the error, judging by the type of error you're getting I would say that those errors are more to do with trying to perform an operation on an attribute that is the wrong variable type.  For example, copying a string into a int; or trying to perform a math operation on a string list.
