JDBC driver configuration

Hi -

In my Process builder i have a DB read component. I need to specify the JDBC driver for setting up the component. How do i go about with setting up the JDBC driver to connect to a SQL 2005 svr that is located on a different server, so i can execute SQL queries using the DB read activity ?

Hello Raj,

You need to select the sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver driver for the sql server connection.

fill in the other details.

Like your connection string should be: jdbc:odbc:dsn_name

also remember "In order to run activities created from the templates in the Integration window, you must install Process Integrator outbound services on Content Server. "

deepak - the problem is that i do not see any of the drivers listed in the dropdown list for the JDBC driver setting. how do i set the JDBC driver for appearing in my list of available drivers.

I know this is an ancient question but we were looking for the same info and eventually found it after much searching, so I thought I'd post a pointer here for anyone else in the same position.

How to add a new JDBC driver for BPM database read and write activities in Process Builder has just been written up in the EMC Community Network under the heading "Update External Database" (current link: https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-10722).

In short it involves writing a small class implementing the JDBCDriverManager interface which is defined in the file bpm-commons.jar and installing all the files as a module.
