Webtop question

I have installed Webtop with Apache Tomcat, and when I go to the web address in my browser it brings up a blank page(no errors) rather than a login screen. There were no errors during installation and no errors during startup, what would cause this to occur? I know this is vague, but I used the windows install package so I figured it should be pretty automatic.

I had to type

http://webservername/da/index.html

I was only typing http://webservername/da

Most application servers allow defining the default pages to search for when a page is not specified in the URL.

for example, most will search for default.html, index.html.... so you ould check in yours if this is configure properly

On my install, I dont need to give the html page name, it finds it automatically.

Hi Francois,

I am also facing same issue as reported by kjimenez. I have configured the WebTop application on my system using the Apache Tomcat and created project for development using Eclipse but when I am trying to run the project it is displaying a blank page (white page).

I am using the following URL to access the WebTop Viewer.

http://localhost:8080/webtop/

Note:- Documentum and WebTop is not on the same system.

In $CATALINA_HOME/conf/web.xml of your web application, add the following lines :

<welcome-file-list>

<welcome-file>index.html</welcome-file>

<welcome-file>index.htm</welcome-file>

<welcome-file>page1.html</welcome-file>

</welcome-file-list>

Now you don't have to specify the index.html etc..

I have made following entries in the web.xml but i am still facing same issue (Blank Page)

if yes, than the settings you made in web.xml should work! Did you tried to stop Tomcat, delete catalina working dir, start Tomcat?

You need to edit your dfc.properties files in ..../wdk/web-inf/classes to set the right parameters as stated in the WDK/Webtop/DA deployment guide.

I have made the following entries in the dfc.properties

dfc.docbroker.host[0]=192.168.10.240
dfc.docbroker.port[0]=1489

dfc.globalregistry.repository=documentum
dfc.globalregistry.username=mstechnology
dfc.globalregistry.password=password

but i am still getting blank page "http://192.168.10.45:8080/webtop/"

Did you encode the bof_registry user's password

I usually copy/paste from the DFC.properties file on the content server to make sure I don't screw it up
