Set EAs to files without permissions
Soph
Is it possible to set Extended Attributes on files in a workarea that a user does not have permissions to, thus allowing them to categorize based off their own taxonomies? I have done this using the iwextattr clt, but want to allow MetaTagger to tag content in workareas that are not shared to a given user.
I have tried spoofing the username by sending a different value for user_name in the request, and modifying the name in the cookie, but to no avail.
Thanks,
Soph

A user cannot set EA's on file without proper permissions. It is considered "writing" to a file, ergo, no write access - no EA's

The interesting thing is without group permissions to the Workarea, but writable group permissions to the file, iwextattr works.
Is this a bug?

Hi Soph,
What user are you logging in as when you run iwextattr? Are they a master role?
Can you list the workarea perms, and the file perms here, and what role the user is that runs iwextattr?
Cheers
Stefan.
