Unable to Connect to DA or webtop after reboot

I can install OK on my "clean" XP system - and access DA without any problems. However if I try and access DA later (and I think this is after either a reboot or a resume) I can not connect. I get the error message:

DFC_DOCBROKER_REQUEST_FAILED

Request to Docbroker "NOTEBOOK:1489" failed.

I've re-installed it twice now and had the same problem

I gather there are some issues about trying to start up content server et al before the comms system - but not sure this is my case.

Any help would be appreciated

Docbroker connects to content server via host name or IP address. Which way do you have this configured? It sounds like your computer may be using DHCP and getting a new IP address upon restart.

Hi Johughes,

It looks like you set dfc.docbroker.host[0] to "NOTEBOOK" in the dfc.properties file. Are you sure it is the host name of your docbroker? If so, please run command "ping NOTEBOOK" to make sure your xp machine can access the host. If not, set it to the correct host name or ip. You can find dfc.properties file in the folder da.war\WEB-INF\classes.

Also, you might want to try to use the fully qualified name for the host

e.g. NOTEBOOK.my.domain
