System utilization capability

For couple of deployment scenarios nowadays, after factoring in load & content volumes, I have observed that the Server configuration sheet typically goes like this (just indicative numbers - not exact)

RAM : 6 GB

CPU : Dual CPU - Quad Core

OS : Win 2000 

( only for the content server, ie. App Server, DB on different servers )

My query now is

1) Can Documentum Content Server utilize the extra RAM (beyond the theoretical 4GB limit and say after considering the /3GB switch).

2) Can Documentum Content Server utilize the power of multiple core's and multiple CPU's ( I understand well that the OS can but can the CS ?)

Based on my experience

1) No, not on windows.

2) Yes, I have seen performance improvements going from single to dual, but not the same order of magnitude increase in performance from dual to quad.  Basically, content server is designed to be multi-threaded, but not everything it does is trully multi-threaded.  The effect of having multiple cores is much harder to determine because you cant really find cpus that are not multi-core any more.
