Problem in installing Documentum Developer version 6.5 sp2

Hi All,

I'm new to Documentum. I'm trying to install Docuemntum Developer version 6.5 sp2. Initially i had "MS SQL Server 2005" and i uninstalled (restarted the machine) before running the Documentumsetup.exe. But i'm getting the below error and i couldn't able to proceed further.

* DATABASE_ENVIRONMENT: 'You have chosen to install the bundled database
but Microsoft SQLServer is already installed. This is not a supported configuration.'.

There is most likely a registry key hidden away. Look in your registry and remove the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server

Also confirm that all directory remnants are gone.

The other option is standing up a Virtual Machine if you can't completely remove everything.

Thanks a Lot its working !!!. I have removed the key from registry for both CURRENT and LOCAL user then i able to install the Documentum Developer version 6.5 sp2.

Yeap, SQL Server leaves quite a lot of **** on the macine and in the registry after uninstalling. Quite annoying.

For people running 64x operating systems you need also to check the following registery key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\
