Triggering Edit/New DCR in WF

Since its possible (one might say easy) to trigger the templating client from a URL, how might one do the same thing as a task in a work flow.

I've gotten as far as "Hmm, that would probably need to be a CGI task" but I'm not sure where to go from there.
