encoding generated pages
GodBlessMe
Hi,
We are using certain DCRs to generate html content. Users copy content from adobe PDFs and paste in the DCR. While generating the HTML pages , some characters are not recognised by the browser. They are being output as some latin characters. Is there a way to enforce encoding before the page is generated?
Thanks

You could set encoding for generated output.
1. add the code in iwpt_encoding.ipl for language encoding
2. in TPL, have the xml header set for that encoding
3. Now add the META HTTP-EQUIV header in the html seciton of your TPL.
Please refer to the INTERNATIONALIZATION section of your TeamSite developer's guide for details. It should be Appendix D in that documentation.
Is this what you are looking for? And also, you must be adding the content using VisualFormat. Right?
Hope this helps!

We are not using Visula FOrmat. But the content is being copied and pasted into the DCR from PDFs. If we generate the html pages from the DCR it outputs special characters.
Thanks

Did you try the suggestion I gave in my previous post with iwpt_encoding.ipl and tpl modifications?
I have had templates built for different languages using this way. And it is documented too in Templating Developer's GUide.
Hope this helps!
