Does DFS available to Documentum version 5.2.5?

according to the documentation I read online so far, DFS only available to version 6.0 or after. Is this correct?

That is correct and I havent heard plans to make it DFS be backwards compatible to 5.2.5. Keep in mind 5.2.5 is not officially supported any more (past product end of life), so why would EMC spend money to support it.

As DFS release notes says, DFS is able to run on top of Content Server 5.3, 5.3 SPx, 6, ...(up to your DFS version). But note that some services are relying on DARs installed to the ContentServer and may not be available at lower version of Content Server.
