What is Documentum Records Manager?

Hello,

Can someone clarfiy to me what is Documentum Records Manager, and the relationship between Documentum Records Manager and Documentum Server? Is there a DFC equivalent of Java API thats work with Documentum Records Manager?

RM is essentially a web application built on WDK and therefore needs the DCTM Content Server to operate.

RM also works in conjunction with Retention Policy Services (RPS) and the Physical Record Manager (PRM) to provide unified functional access from a single user interface.

RPS and PRM functionality however, are disabled until you have them activated with their respective license keys. Each can be activated separately by installing the respective license key during the installation process or at a later time. Only Webtop functionality is accessible if no license keys are installed.

There are Java API's and Javadocs for RM/RPS and PRM.
