Updating the date field to current date

Hi ,

I need to set the value of a date field to current date.....

For example the date filed is "Received Date". Everyday the date field should get updated to the day's date

Say for today it will be "08/21/09". Tommorow it will change to "08/22/09".

This will be automated. We don't need to do it maually.

I think this will require a code change. Can anyone please throw some light on how to proceed on this.
