Documentum Client for Outlook (DCO) 6.5 SP1 - How to install?

Hello,

I try to install the DCO in Version 6.5 SP1, but hit some problems.

How many DocApps must be installed into the repository? I read in the documentation that two DocApps must be installed, but I can just find one DocApp for the 6.5 SP1 version (DCO DocApp).

There is one DocApp (the DCO DocApp) as .DAR download and as .ZIP download. There is no secound DocApp (Message DocApp). Do I need this Message DocApp for a correct and complete DCO installation?

At this moment I just install the DCO DocApp (DCO_6_5_SP1.dar) and I can't see the DCO node in the Documentum Administrator. I patch already the DA with the DCO_DA_6.5_patch.zip files.

Can anyone help? Which DocApps must be installed for the DCO in version 6.5 SP1?

Hi,

I you are running Contyent Server 6.5 SP1, you only need to install the DCO_6_5_SP1.dar archive. See page 14 of the DCO 6.5 SP1 admin guide
For you to see the Client For Outlook node in DA follow the steps in the DCO 6,5 release notes page 35.

We are using Content Server - 6 SP1

Webphere - 6.11 as a Application Server.

We were told to install DFC 6 SP1 on the Application server and deploy the DCO.ear file

Apply DA patch, since we ahve DA 6 SP1, we will be using DA 6 SP1 patch.

Also mentionded that we only need one DocApp?

Did you guys get it to work?

App Server - Websphere

1. Install DFS on the Application Server.

2. Deploy Documentum-Client-for-Outlook-WebService-6.5-SP1.ear file.

You have to update the "administration_component.xml" for the DCO node to show up. (DCO 6.5 release notes page 35).

Normaly step 6 is not necessary. This should happen automatically when you create a DCO profil

Step 5:

The DCO DocApps must be installed on each repository that will be used for DCO, including the global repository. If you are installing DCO on Content Server 6 SP1, you will use Documentum Application Installer (DAI) to install the two DocApps. The DocApps are called the MessagingApp DocApp and the DCO DocApp.

If we do not add the repository names in the DCO_custom_Settings.xml, how will it determine, which respository the client is trying to conenct to?

There is only one DocApp with the Installation materials, So you are saying that we have to install Messaging & DCO DocApp has to be installed. Where will I get the Messaging DocApp?

You don't need to add this information manualy to DCO_custom_Settings.xml.

If you create a DCO profil in DA this information will be added automatically to DCO_custom_Settings.xml.

Try to download this 2nd DocApp from the Download Center - but from the 5.3 version. I don't need this DocApp because I use CS 6.5. Therefore I can't say for sure that you can find this DocApp there.

sorry, I don't know. I work with the Weblogic WEbServer.

I would suggest that you ask the EMC Technical Support. I also can't find this file in the Download Center.
