Complex MT Question

I am curious to know if you can invoke MT from a HTML for in a CGI task. I know you can invoke it as a CGI task itself (with the file selected from TS). We have a requirement that there must be an English and French file. So if a user selects the English file, an ET grabs the other file, then MetaTagger is invoked. Problem is that metadata-rules.cfg is only consulted for the first file in the list, so the French MT GUI is never presented in the workflow task.

I guess my first question is: Is there a way around this. Second, is there a way to push a file into mtmetaproxy.ipl allow MT to be invoked from a CGI form?

Any help on this matter would be well received.

Hi Lucas. metadata-rules.cfg does get looked up for every file attached and sent to MT UI. But when looking at the rules, the first rule that gets matched is used and the rest is ignored. For example,

rule #1 has regex ".*"
rule #2 has regex ".*French.*"

in this case, nothing will ever match rule #2 since it always short-circuits at rule #1. I hope this solves your problem.

FYI, if multiple rules are matched, MT UI should merge all the fields and present them in a form.
