clean jboss cache

Hi friends,

I have a customer with Documentum 6.5 SP1 (using JBoss as a method server) who is deploying java methods into $JBOSS_HOME/server/DctmServer_MethodServer/deploy/ServerApps.ear/DmMethods.war/WEB-INF/classes according to the documentation and this is working fine. The problem is that the method server seems to cache methods and fails to clear the cache on restart.

In CS v5.x restarting Method Server (when it was Tomcat) would refresh the methods. The JBoss server in 6.5 does not seem to do that. The customer has tried various cache cleaning etc. but he still has to rename. At this time the customer is not able to change their deployment to WAR files.

Anyone with any recommendation or suggestion please?

Hi,

I don't know where is it documented that someone should deploy anything into Java Method Server (into ServerApps), but as far as I know, this is not a supported way to deploy new methods.

By the way JBoss has some tmp folder, where it places the deployed/cached webapplication like the ServerApps.ear. You shouldn't copy only class files into the classes directory, you should deploy whole war files or ear files.

Instead, you should copy your class files into $DOCUMENTUM/dba/java_methods folder or create (dynamically loading) Modules from your classes (look at Composer examples), which indeed needs some refactoring, but it's the best way to do it.
