Disabling Menu Items in Webdesk

Hi,

We need to disable some of the menu items in the Webdesk interface (new Author's only interface). We have inserted the following into the iw.cfg:
[ui_remove_menu_items]
editdcr="author"

Then we ran an iwreset. In the old Webdesk Pro the menu item has been disabled and disappears, but not in the new Webdesk.
In the Webdesk Pro this item is under the 'Edit' menu but in the Webdesk it is under the 'File' menu. Would this be the reason the item does not disappear? If so what would be the correct item to try and remove? Any ideas?
Why is this functionality not the same for the Webdesk or am I doing something wrong?

Any answers out there?

Think you have to do iwreset -ui to rebuild the application/menus.

Guess I didn't try that as I don't have access to root. Got iwreset -ui run and the items disappear out of the webdesk.
However I have just discovered the problem with this - the edit option also disappears from the task list. It doesn't do this in the Webdesk Pro.
Basically what we want to do is disable 'Edit' functionality outside of the workflow. It works in the Webdesk Pro but not in the Webdesk it seems.
