Composer -> Type UI -> Display Configuration ... not working

Hello,

I'm running Documentum 6.5 SP1.

While going through the Composer "Insurance App" tutorial, I ran into the following problem:

When I get to the stage of adding a new "Display Configuration" for the "insurance_claim" type, it does not show up as a new tab when I view "Properties" for those types on Webtop.

I've tried doing this with other types too; create my own types, and add a new Display Configuration, and it just doesn't show up. I even deleted the "Info" Display Configuration just out of curiousity, but it still showed up.

Has anyone else seen this error? I tried this in Internet Explorer 7 and in Firefox 3.5 - both don't display the new Display Configuration I've set up (I suspected a client browser issue, but it seemed to make no difference).

As I said, publishing the data dictionary is automatically done when installing a project in a docbase.

However, stopping and restarting the applicaton server is not as composer and Webtop are independant therefore, it indeed needs to be done manually by the app server administrator.

Usually, just stopping it and restarting is enough but sometimes, clearing its Documentum cache (the Documentum folder under the app server path, i.e for Tomcat, that would be c:\Program Files\Apache...\Tomcat...\Documentum) before restarting it is also good (in any case, it can't hurt)

Works fine for me.

Did you restart your app server after doing that ?

If yes and still no go, did you clear up the Documentum cache on the app server ?

Did you republish the data dictionary (I know it should be done automatically upon installing the DAR into the docbase but who knows)

Thanks for the reply. I'll give the three things you mention a shot, but a question: did you have to do those things yourself when you say it worked for you? It seems unusual to require this, especially looking ahead to a production environment that will have several projects hosted on it.

If you did not have to do these steps yourself, then I have to look for another solution.
