Uninstalling Content Server v5.3

I had installed Content Server 5.3 on a Windows 2003 server box named server1, which was to be used as the master image for making multiple Documentum development servers.  Subsequently, the box was cloned to several machines, named server2, server3, etc.

Now I am trying to uninstall Content Server 5.3 from server5, and have logged in as the installation owner, dmadmin.  Unfortunately, the uninstaller won't start, stating that the user server5/dmadmin is not the install owner, and that I need to run the uninstaller as user server1/dmadmin.

How do I force the uninstall to continue?  Is there a registry setting I can change?  Or is it in the SQL Server?

I haven't tried this specifically, but I imagine it's very similar to changing the install owner for an existing installation.

The most likely registry key you need to change is:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Documentum\Server\<version_no>
  • Change the value of DM_DMADMIN_USER to the new       installation owner user name
