Worlflow connection error

We are connected on a LAN and when we login and try to connect to a workflow we would get a prompt: your connection is disabled, connect, work offline or disconnect.

Any advice would help.

Is it happening only for TeamSite related browsing?
Could you browse to other www sites?
And finally how are you "connecting to workflow"?

Yes, it is only happens to Teamsite related browsing.
I could browse to other site with no problem.
We are using cgi to connect to the workflows

It will really help if you could illustrate a bit more about the steps of your workflow and how exactly you are kicking it off. I read in your post that you are connecting to it via a cgi. But what is the call you are making in it? Are you *not* using TeamSite GUI for working on the tasks? Is it an email task? etc..

We did not use Teamsite GUI. Everytime an author is ready to send their pages for approval, he/she goes back to her email and click on the link to send for approval. Once that is send off, the manager would received an email and asked them to approve the page. When the manager click on the link to approval or reject, they would get the connect offline error. I would say this is an email task.

Could you please check in your browser one thing real quick:
Please check in the File menu of your Internet Explorer and see what is it showing as the second last option from bottom. I mean, what is it showing just before "Close" option in File menu of your IE. Is it "work offline" or "work online" there?

You say other CGIs work fine. You may wish to create a similar test, not using teamsite URLs in email,but other web links, to be sure they work fine.

We did for over a month but support is still working on it. I was hoping that someone from dev net had experience the same thing.

Seems to me that IE showing work offline is obviously the problem. You can't work (approve/reject) a task offline. If they see that, they need to change their browser to be online (File -- Work Online).

The question may well be, why are they working "offline" when they are connected? (Laptop user that works "offline" at home, then comes into the office, 1st thing is to check mail, see they have something to approve and try to use the link.... IE still set for offline?)

If IE is showing "work offline" as an option in File menu then that means you are currently working "online" and if you want you can swwitch to offline mode by clicking it.
So, in this case where it shows "work offline" users should be connected online. It is a toggle switch actually. If you select work offline option you would see it gets replaced by work online for next click.

I would assume it is something else....

Actually, In MY version of IE, it is a toggle, but the text ALWAYS says "work offline"..... There is either a check next to the text (indicating you ARE OFFLINE) or no check indicating you are ONLINE. I assumed that since ACES indicated that it was "work offline" that they were saying that the person was in fact offline.....
The "error" message (re needing to connect/go online) tends to support this.

Obviously, if they REALLY are online, that isn't the issue.... Personally, I'd double check at this point.
