Merging backing stores

All,

Here is the situation. I want to merge two backing stores. They are on separate servers (W2K), and have the same name. For example, e:\iw-store\store1 on one box and e:\iw-store\store1 on the other box.

I want to merge these into one store on one box. Both store contain different branches and workareas, so there will not be duplication of content.

What is the easiest way to achieve this. Any thoughts??

I suggest you look at the iwmigrate tool - you can use that to migrate branches from one 5.5.2 store to another 5.5.2 store.

I am receiving an error with iwmigrate...

Internal error, vpath does not begin with '/'

Any hints on this one, there is nothing in iwtrace...

This is the command I ran

iwmigrate -m c:\iw-store\internet -o c:\iw-store\safari_on_line -b

I took it right from the documentation.

I have only used iwmigrate with Solaris migration, but it looks like you need to specify following the -m, your Y:\ drive and you need a branch after -b.

Run iwmigrate -h to see usage information - I seem to recall the example in the documentation got truncated (bug # 40769 - I believe fixed in the TeamSite 6 manuals, but I haven't verified)
