Wrong file owner Diplayed in GUI

Hi,

When some users create a file in the workarea the ownership displayed is wrong (nobody) instead of the owner but the time stamp is correct.

Any Idea, if so can help me resolve this.

What does the filesystem say ? check the file properties and do an ls -l (if you are Unix)

Also, if this before a submit or after ?

The filesystem permission are correct. I missed to add this. I have even reseted teamsite (iwreset -a) . This is happening to some users.

I think this shows who the first creator of the file is. When I look at a file, modified by is root. Do a file properties, the initial creator is root, though unix tells me the owner (set by submit.cfg) is tsadmn. Same behavior for webdesk & webdeskpro.

I guess we consider this an "undocumented feature"

How is the person "sending" the file to TeamSite. If it is as nobody, then if there is an application like a cgi or nfs or something in between that is not a valid unix user.

The user is just adding a file or even modifying an existing file and even creating new dcr, they all get modified by nobody.

Modifying an existing file will show up as Nobody, since it shows up at the original creator of the object. Don't know why, sounds like a bug to me you should file it.

For a brand new, never existed before file, it should show up as the user who imported/copied it in. If those are also nobody, then the method you are using to import cannot pass the user name.

On my Solaris system apache is running as nobody but if I use launchpad to import, it is picking up my UID and properly assigning it. Don't know what is happening on your system.

Do a ps -ef | grep nobody

Ihave opened a case for this. Its really surprising for me as I have used all versions starting from 4.2 teamsite.

Did you get any response on this? Alll of a sudden last modified is showing root all over the place on our system, whether users edit with vi on the server, through a mapped drive or through the TeamSite UI.

Yes. This was fixed in 5.5.2 Service pack I think it was sp3.

The PSO guy here says this build includes that botch, so I must have a different problem.

I just checked the support article that maps build numbers to SP versions - https://support.interwoven.com/kb/kb_show_article2.asp?ArticleID=50600.

According to that, your build number is not listed for SP3. I recommend you check into this further. You may wish to contact tech support. The data is not lining up.

I may have spoken too soon, you could have a patch version on of SP3. You may want the PSO person to check into the bugid in question.
