encoding issues

All,
We are having some encoding issues in our TeamSite environment. I was curious to know if anyone could shed any light on this. For instance, when I look at the File Properties on a generated file (i.e. html) I see an attribute called TeamSite/Templating/Encoding, but the value is blank. Should this bet set to something (i.e. UTF-8 or ISO-8859). How does it get set? Any help on this topic would be excellent, we seem to be banging our heads against the wall on this one.

Vague memories on this but...

During install, (on Solaris) the install looks at how the OS is set for lanuages. It should make an entry in iw.cfg like this:

[iwserver]
server_locale=English_UnitedStates.Latin1@Default;

From there iwreset -ui (or the install/tspostreboot, I do not remember which) builds a lot of the UI files & should populate the encoding.

What encoding do you have set on your TPL and DCT?

Should look something like this...

<?xml version="1.0" encoding = "UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE datacapture SYSTEM "datacapture5.0.dtd">

OR

<iw_pt encoding="UTF-8" name="whatever"/>

So ignore my last reply, that is for the Teamsite GUI.

I looked at our templates here, encoding is also blank. Not certain how they get set.

One more thing

iwgen does have an encoding flag. whether that is used to set TeamSite/Templating/Encoding or vice versa I do not know. Check the CLT for iwgen
