I am unable to view files. I have the file associations set in the Launch Pad setup. But when I select a file and hit View File, it removes the file selection and doesn't display the file. However I can edit files and files open using the appropriate associations.

What happens if you just click on the file name ? Does it bring it up in a browser ? Not that is matters, but what type of file ?

If it is a file that can open in a browser (e.g. an asp file), clicking on the file opens it in the browser. If it is a file that can't open in the browser, the browser window shows this message

I think this is a known bug that has been fixed with a patch. Look at this KB article:

What version of TeamSite (service packs, etc)?
We'll need some more details about exactly what
you are seeing too.

a12345, you're not giving us much info to work with.. :-)
What is your client side? Win2k or something else?
What exactly are your symptoms? Does the Edit
command from Webdesk work, but new View command
always does nothing? If you try to view this file from another
client PC or another TeamSite user, does it work for them?
LaunchPad can work as a signed Java applet or as a
Windows application.. your admin can configure either
one. You didn't say which you're using but, I'll
assume it's the applet (that's more common).
The first thing I'd check is make sure you've turned off the
java browser plug-in (assume you're using IE, are you?)
and restart the browser.
If that doesn't work, send more details...
