Workflows Missing

Anyone, WIN2K TS 5.5.2

I stopped the teamsite services...
I then made a backup/copy of iw-store...
I rebooted the machine...
When the system came up some of our editors "ToDo" list were missing workflow jobs.

The jobs are still there (iwgetwfobj -r) but they are not assigned to the proper editors "ToDo" lists.

Has anybody had this problem?
How can I get a handle on a job and try and do the following
1. See what WF job/task should be in who's "ToDo" list?
2. Try and assign it to someones "ToDo"?
3. Any other suggestions to get it into the proper users "ToDo"?

Any help would be apperciated.

I would guess some were running ExternalTasks when the services were stopped, and the tasks were never able to callback? I may have a script that runs a check for such situations if you are interested (but last time I ran it performance was terrible on Windows when there were more than maybe 50 jobs). But I would also suggest that each externaltask have a timeout associated with it that activates an error control task. You could also do "View All Jobs" in WebDesk Pro to find the jobs, but a script to send you an email when it detects such a condition may also be useful.

You probably need to identify the tasks that did not callback and call them back manually (activating the error successor, assuming there is one).

If it is not just externaltasks, I can't guess.

Actually the task that the WF is hanging on is a grouptask

Wonder if TeamSite lost contact with the PDC? Because it apparently doesn't think the user is in that group. Try adding this to the [iwserver] section of your iw.cfg (then restart the machine). This will cause one of your TeamSite logs to show what groups TeamSite thinks each user is in.

You could also explicity add the user to the grouptask using iwaddtaskuser (if TeamSIte won't recognize that the user is in the group)..

The TS Box is not part of a Domain....it's in it's own Workgroup.

But you seem to be on the right track John.

I tried to run a WF and it was giving me permissions errors on WA saying “I did not have rights to modify”. I said to myself that this is very strange, that for some reason Interwoven does not have a handle on the windows Group and/or User permissions.

I felt TeamSite was not running properly so I rebooted the Computer and things went back to normal.

It was a fix but it still bugs me.

Does anyone have any information on what service/program/call might have gotten interfered with to not interpret windows permissions properly?
