Im calling a new dcr thru cci(Casual Contributors Interface). i need to set few values of the DCR items, on call of the new dcr. Is there a possibility of passing parameters thru the CCI & reading them in the dcr on load through form API.

I guess You can pass it as a Query Strng and then retirieve the URL and then do some string hadling and obtain the values
I have not tried this though. I guess it may be possible

ACtually if you can explain the scenario then it will help us in understanding the problem better.
If your problem is to set some default to the fields in the DCR, then you can do it through a script like this

$warea = $ENV{IW_WORKAREA};
$pos = rindex($warea, "/")+1;
$warea = substr($warea, $pos);

$warea=~s/&/&/;

$output.="<text required=\"t\" size=\"30\" maxlength=\"30\">\n";

$output.="</text>\n";
$output.="</substitution>\n";
print $output;

Paste the Above code in a notepad and create a IPL file and then call the IPL file as an inline command in the DCR like this.
<inline command="c:\iw-home\iw-perl\bin\iwperl c:\iw-home\httpd\iw-bin\getqueuename.ipl"/>

This will set the values by default. I guess u can pass the values from CCI to this IPL and then write the logic in here and populate the vaules in the DCR

The scenario is:
I have a cgi callout from the custom menu. Here the user searches for a Item Title. If a record does not exist for that Title in the database, then i need to open a new DCR, with the title Item in the DCR holding the value the user has searched for. So when i open the new DCR i need to pass the searched title to the dcr.

The solutions didnt help me out. Could anyone tell me if its possible or not. Its as simple as i need to pass QueryString to a cci callout of a newdcr & read that querystring in the form API
