Defaulting to Last-Used TPL

Is there a way to default to the last-used TPL when selecting Preview or Generate within a DCF? (i.e., if a user Previews a DCR using TPL "C", then when he later selects Preview it should already have TPL "C" selected.)

Can we save the TPL last-used in the DCR, and then get the TPL list to read from the DCR some how? I got a Project Manager over here telling me that it can be done..

Just an idea.

What about in the TPL itself, write out to a config type file that has the users name and the TPL name.
Then in the DCT somehow read this file, check which user it is and read back the TPL last seleted. Somehow pass this value when Preview/Generate is selected.
Not sure how all that can be done but I guess you may have already been thinking along those lines?

There looks like there is a script that pretty much grabs the templating .cfg file and displays the TPL's for the category. It seems like we'd somehow have to enhance the script that reads in the templating.cfg file to check some other file when displaying its list of TPL's.

Be careful about changing any code that comes as part of the product. (a) it's essentially a violation of the support contract, (b) it will probably get lost when you apply a service pack or upgrade to the next version.

If you still decide to go this route - make sure you document, very carefully and with great detail, what changes you made and why.
