Blackboard Learning System

Hi People,

Do you know if Interwoven provides any kinda integration with Blackboard Learning System. Or any plans in the near future to integrate Interwoven with Blackboard? Blackboard itself has a content management offering for elearning.

Blackboard’s suite of enterprise applications includes the Blackboard Learning System, Blackboard Community Portal System™, and Blackboard Transaction System™. Through the use of Building Blocks technology, Blackboard’s suite of applications has been architected and designed to deliver a fl exible, customizable, and seamlessly integrated operating environment for e-Education.

I asked around, no one is familiar with this specific product. In the past, when the tech folks I spoke to investigated similar solutions, they found each LMS/e-learning system to be different, and generally heavily database-driven. This would mean that each "integration" would be very different and very customer-driven.

Not sure how helpful this is, but it's what I found out.

Hi AK,

As per my understanding, Blackboard Learning System, doesn't have content Management Capability. All it has a Content uploading component where by users can upload documents and files to the Blackboard repository.

Interwoven doesnt have any out-of the box Integration component that can acheive communication between Blackboard and TeamSite.

Well Blackboard does have different products. Blackboard Learning System is one of them it does not have CMS. But Blackboard does have other products like Blackboard Content System (for Content Management), Blackboard Portal System and Blackboard Transaction system.

I'm interested in eLearning systems in general. There's lots of standards out there for XML type docs, metadata exchange, AICC/SCORM-compliant content -- and all the LCMS's seem to be touting these. If it's supposedly so standardized, why isn't there some way to map IWOV onto the these?

I noticed there was an alliance between IWOV and Docent last year, but now Docent has its own system.

Thanks in advance for any information ...

Apparently someone from IWOV is talking at CONTENT WORLD about LCMS's.
