What is a sub branch?
nico
I've read the interwoven documentation but still I'm not clear on what the best practice of using a sub branch is? I can see that a public site, intranet, and extranet would be on seperate branches so where does sub branches fit in this picture? Would a subbranch house other sites? Domains?
Thanks,
Nico

Time to go to class.
Subbranches can be totally seperate branches off of of the same branch (intranet -> project 1 , project 2, etc) purely a subbranch for organization
You can also inherit content (but branching from an edition and some nifty proxy settings) for say internationalization. Start with Rel5 of the www branch, subbranch /spanish pitch the images, style sheets, etc and point with the proxy to the parent. Then translate.
The subbranch, it slices, it dices, it make Julian Fries.. :-)

The number of assets and the size of the website in total will also be a factor in weather a site should be broken into multiple branches.
Sub branches could be useful in that scenario.
only divide a single site into more than one branch, if its needed. Synchronization, and integration issues arise with branch dependancies.
