Java Templating and CCI

I am using CCI to invoke the new DCR template from our web application custom toolbox.

We have following entry set in the iw.cfg file:
use_java_ui=true

We have some users with author lic and some with editor lic.
We are using TS552.

In TS552 authors can not switch the templating UI. UI is set to them as Java UI by the iw.cfg file entry.

When we use the teamsite workarea window and say New Data Record, it opens in Java UI properly.

But it does not work with CCI URL given above for all the authers. Instead of java based template it opens web based template.
It works fine for editors as they have set the UI to Java using View->Set Templating UI menu.

Can somebody pls help resolving this issue.

PS : I know that Java UI is going to be absolute in near future and we have planned for change later on.

My understanding is that the JAVA UI was no longer supported from version 5.

To me this would mean that CCI's were never designed to work with the JAVA UI.

You may want to hear from Interwoven on this one as I cant be sure.

We have opened a case with interwoven for this.
By the way, a tech note # 2137 indicates it can use Java UI.

This launches a blank DCT form to create a new DCR (in the Browser or Java UI) of the specified category and type, in the specified workarea. It will use either the WebDesk interface or the Java Templating client depending on the system-wide configuration and per-user preference
