Visual Format changes the style of the html
Markandeyulu
Hi...
I am using the visual format editor but then when i paste the contnet from a microsoft word document(this is how i get my content) onto the visual format editor the html generated has completely different style than the one i want.
the font in the visual format is completely overriding the the class font from the css.
What is the work around for this....how can i make sure that even if i paste from a word document the geenerated html has the css font...
Thanks.
Mark

two methods,
have a read of the visual format dev guide.
XML configuration data page 143 and onwards is what you are interested in.
You can remove tags that word puts in such as font tags, then in your presentation template you can wrap up your css styles around the content.
You could also parse the html inside your presentation template and add or remove anything you need. Not ideal.
I would avoid using visual format all together for these reasons.
It makes it quite hard to control the look and feel.

I agree, visual format isn't that great to work with, and I avoid using it when possible. If you want your users to control the layout, then why bother with templating? If you want them to layout a section in another app, and insert it into a templated page, they could always just paste it into a text box, and get rid of VFE.
That said, if you need to use VFE, then take a look through the dev guide. You can minimize the amount of rewriting. Seems like basically you want the users to have an html preview in the template.
