Preserving Permissions

I am trying to do a comparision deployment from one instance of teamsite to another instance (ie. deploying a branch and directory structure from dev to production teamsite.) When I execute the deployment; I want all unix group/owner and access permissions to be created the same on the target as is in the source. Currently it is not doing this. For some files and directories, and not sure where it is getting the group/owner from.

Is this possible? How do I do it?
If it should already be doing this, is it possible that the unix groups/owners do not exist on the target server, which in turn would cause this issue?

Which releases of TeamSite and OpenDeploy are you using?

Generally, OD should clone the ownerships and perms of files between Unix systems. Make sure in your dir-diff deployment that you are not accessing Teamsite's cached mount point (//IWSERVER magic prefix or /iwmnt prefix). Instead, use the /.iwmnt prefix.

I am having the same problem, the opendeploy receiver doesn't preserve the same ownership as it is in teamsite when I deploy the content out to production server. I am using filelist deployment. Running TS5.5.2 and OD 5.6 with SP1

What platform?
Are the Base Server and Receiver running "as root" (or System on Windows)? or as "non-root"?
