Teamsite stop and start safely
Kay
Hi All,
Can someone answer my question, it has been a problem for us for long time now.
we have Teamsite 5.5.2 service pack 2b on solaris 8.
For security we have installed ACX security package on solaris OS. But we as teamsite users on that box have sesudo access to stop_all and start teamsite server as root.
The real problem is when actual root user stops and starts server the mounts especially /.iwmnt works fine, but when we run stop_all and start command by using sesudo to root, the /.iwmnt has problems, it never lets us to preview or generate templates. It appears like the /.iwmnt never gets mounted properly.
Any help on this appreciated. Can someone point us whether Teamsite only lets roots to stop and start server if yes, what is the logic behind this restriction. Is there any workaround for this problem?
thanks once again.

Kay,
when I was supporting TS5.0.1 on Solaris8, I never had a problem using SUDO to execute any of the TeamSite files.
this included, but was not limited to, all of the files in /etc/init.d and $iw-home/bin.
Not sure what the difference is between sudo and sesudo, but thought this might shed some light.

Maybe there is a problem umounting /.iwmnt when you shut-down TeamSite, so that there is a stale NFS mount after start-up. Do you see any messages iwserver.log about "device busy"?
