Using iw_perl

Hi,
I have a presentation template in which i have embedded perl code. In this perl code i access an Excel sheet and obtain some values to be displayed. But on compilation i get this error:
"Can't locate TeamSite/PT/iw_xml.pm in @INC (@INC contains d:\ActivePerl\lib"

Shown below is a snippet of my code. Please advise if the format of my code is correct. I'm attempting something like this for the first time.

For what its worth, your @INC path is for activestate perl, not IW_PERL, so your PATH variable had activeperl's bin directory on it before the IW bin directories.

You need to adjust your PATH env var to make sure you see iw_perl before perl, and also, you're probably calling "perl" in your TPL instaad of iw_perl.

It seems to have partially solved my problem. But I'm still getting some errors. Please help me figure them out. The following line is obtained as errors:

Variablw "$iw_parser"is not imported at abc.ipl line 123
Global symbol "$iw_parser" requires explicit package name.

if I were you, I'd make sure that no activestate perl installatiion is messing around in any way.

Are you using a package that is actually part of iw-perl? If not, you can place it in your /local/lib directory and do the following:

use lib 'e:/iw-home/local/lib';
use Templating::care_filter; #this is a custom .pm

you can call it by:
$output = Templating::care_filter::filter($output);

This is probably not exactly how your package needs to be called, but hopefully it will help. I pretty much write my whole TPL in Perl instead of the, what I consider to be, the cumbersome XML tags. I mean, the XML ends up in the perl parser anyway...

Hi everybody,

Thanx a lot, problem got solved. Actually the perl script was referring to a package which not present in the perl/lib dir but elsewhere, so the @INC was giving a problem.
