Hi Dan,
Did the "Grant Interwoven Permission" box display for you? If yes, did you say "Yes" or "No"?
What browser are you using? Have you ever been able to successfully use launchpad on this machine before?
Thanks,

No they don't get prompted for permission.
Browser: IE 5.5
User could edit on a TS 5.0.2 machine (we migrated last week to 5.5.2)
They do get this Java error too: (before the launchpad permission popup)
Unable to verify the certificate - code will be treated as unsigned.
java.security.cert.CertificateException: Unable to verify the certificate with root CA

Hi Bowker
Looks like the use has SUN java as the default JAva Engine. They will need to change this to the Microsoft one and that should clear the error. We had the same problem about a week ago and that fix worked.

If the user has the Sun JVM installed it will appear as an entry in their Add/Remove Programs area.
Go to:
1. Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
2. Remove "Java 2 Runtime Environment".
You can also tell this is installed because a little java logo will appear in the system tray when the Applet is trying to run.
Let me know if this works for you.
Thanks,

I had two users with similar issues - one just flat out hung the browser with no errors and then the other with the errors described above.
The one with the 'hanging browser' is a non-power user and did have Java 2 RE, SE V1.4.0. I removed it and she is all better.
My other user is a pretty heavy power user and I removing the JRE could cause problems else where. Then I checked my machine which works just fine - according to "add/remove programs" I have
I know I've deleted a few of these but...)
J2RE SE V1.3.0_01
J2RE SE V1.3.0_02
J2RE SE V1.3.1
J2RE SE V1.3.1_05
J2RE SE V1.4.0
J2SDK SE v1.2.2
J2SDK SE V1.3.1_05
Java Development Kit 1.1
Microsoft SDK for Java 4.0
Could it be just one specific version that causes conflicts?

Which SP are you using with 5.5.2? Generally, the later the SP
the better, in regards to the java plug-in.
If you don't want to delete the JRE from the power user's
machine, disable it inside of IE and restart the browser(s).
Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
You should see an option along the lines of "Use Java 2"
which you should uncheck. Restart all instances of IE.
