Filelist deletions possible?
nico
I'm interested in deleting individual files is there a way to do that without doing a full deployment? Like using a filelist deploy to do it?
Thanks,
Nico

If you perform a file list deployment with the do-delete option enabled, and if files in the file list are missing from the source area, then the corresponding files in the target area will be deleted.
Or you can simply do a directory comparison deployment with do-delete enabled. This will delete all files from the target that are missing from the source. (You can also use filters to preclude certain files from getting deleted.)

How would I set this up? I'm completely new to regular expressions

At the risk of seeming rude:
- The most often referenced book on regexs - "Mastering Regular Expressions" by Jeffrey Friedl - O'Reilly - beg/borrow/buy a copy and read it.
- Read the OpenDeploy manuals
- Enroll in OpenDeploy training (I believe there are web-based classes available now - or if possible, go to one of the instructor-led courses)

Don't need to employ regexes for this.
Take a look at the sample deployment configs that come with OD under OpenDeployNG\conf\examples\samples. The one called Sample_Simple is a basic directory comparison deployment. If you add the doDelete option to it, files missing from the source will be deleted from the target.
Also, be sure to download the new edition of the OD 5.6 docs, which are available on the support site. Lots of info in there about configuring comparison deployments.

I assume that RichardR was referring to the 'filter' part - in which you *may* (if you use the *Pattern variety) need to understand regex's a bit. If you use the *Path type filter, no regex is required.
