TeamSite6 Woes
jerm
We upgraded to TeamSite6, and have been asked to uninstall the 5.5.2 SP4 installs. Has anyone ever seen the error "History file not found"?
Thanks

What were you doing when you got that error message? Be more specific. What platform?

We initially had TeamSite 5.5.2 with SP4 for TeamSite and Templating running on Windows 2000 Srver.
We recently installed TeamSite6, but the IWProxy wasn't staring up.. and when you started it it would just stop again.
We were informed that SP4 wan't supported and to unstall TeamSite6 and the SP4.
We uninstalled TeamSite6 and then tried to uninstall SP4 next.
When uninstalling SP4 we got the error..
Now we tried reinstalling TeamSite 6 and then uninstalling SP4. But we just get the error "History file not found".

I believe the SP4 that is not supported is WIN 2K SP4 not TS SP4.
SP4 for windows 2k rewrote a bunch of the underlying code in Windows that breaks TS. There are no patches for this. You can't run TeamSite on a Windows 2k server with Win2k SP4 installed.

TS Support is saying the TS SP4 is not supported by TS6 because the TS6 was not fully tested with TSSP4

Right, this is not a supported platform. I did ask around to see if anyone has tried SP4 with TS6, no answers so far.

OK.. now when trying to uninstall TS Templating SP4 the error message:
"Problems! The Templating\5.5.2\5.0 we found is not the last service pack installed. You may only uninstall the last service pack."

Let me make sure this is what you did:
1) installed 5.5.2+SP4
2) installed TS6
3) uninstalled TS6
4) uninstall 5.5.2+SP4
After (2), your 5.5.2 files were pretty much gone, replaced by TS6.0 files. TS6.0 also removed obsolete 5.5.2 *.jar's and SP histories. Do you have a backup from 5.5.2+SP4? If you do, you should first uninstall SP4, then install TS6.0.

TeamSite6.0 was reinstalled because SP4 wouldn't uninstall without it. So now I get the message described in my previous post when trying to uninstall SP4.

Don't uninstall SP4 after you installed 6.0. If you were successful, your 6.0 installation would be completedly corrupted. Since you already installed 6.0, your SP4 file set is gone. You can manually remove the SP4 registry keys to clean-up and sync-up your system. Here is the keys to remove:
1) TeamSite Templating SP4 Uninstaller
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurentVersion\Uninstall\{FC268FCA-8B45-475EA56A208FB72299A7}
2) TeamSite SP4 Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurentVersion\Uninstall\{AC1401B5-DB23-42D2-BFB59346329C3DC9}
3) TeamSite SP4
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Interwoven\InterwovenTeamSite 5.5.2 Service Pack 4
4) TeamSite Templating SP4
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Interwoven\Interwoven TeamSite Templating 5.5.2 Service Pack 4

Can there be an update to the installation script for TS 6.0 to automatically remove those keys?

This suggestion is now captured in bug id: 47123.
