Another question (Changing group permissions)

RichieRich

I have a bunch of folders which I'd like to switch the group ownership form. I tried doing a chgrp on the folder then submitting it to staging, but it requires a file to be modified. I don't want to have to track down all the folders and then chgrp a file within that folder then do a submit. Is there an easy method for doing this or must I write a script to do a (find + chgrp + iwsubmit) on a file under each folder own by the group I wish to switch.

The reason I ask is because once someone does a get lastest or teamsite is restarted, the group is restored from the staging area which has the old group ownership.

I am just looking for a simple easy solution. It's been a while since I had time to work with teamsite, and it's often hard to come back to a product that you've been away from for over a year.

Thanks for all your help and support. Esp Fish for providing help when I post questions.

Did you try setting the Group/Owner permission using the Submit.cfg ?

I am somewhat happy to over come my ignorance to the command line tools that is provided with teamsite. iwsubmit + chgrp is what I needed. I already had submit.cfg altered, I would have to touch the files within teamsite to submit them.

My ignorance and work load was a bad combination at the time of this post.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi,
I am also having a similar problem.
we are using TS6.7, Solaris8

We need to duplicate 6 branches and want to set 6 different groups for each branch and the folders in it.
We are using TeamSite groups instead of OS groups.

What will be the best possible way for this ?

Thanks & Regards
