AIX - Server Start Fails

kuppu

We have teamsite installed on AIX Server. We installed AIX Service pack 1as it was recommended crucial. During the process of installation, when we executed the following command
"<iw-home>/install/install_webapps.ipl -r webdesktst.war "
it returned the following error:

"No war file is installed for the requested webapp /interwoven/iw-home/httpd/webapps/webdesktst.war.
Additional information can be found in /interwoven/iw-home/httpd/webapps/installinfo/webapps_depend.log"

After this when we tried a teamsite server restart:

it gave the following error in server log.

ERROR:iwstart: An incorrect TeamSite kernel extension is already loaded.
ERROR:iwstart: You must reboot to load the correct kernel extension.
ERROR:iwstart: Kernel wfs version: 5.5.2 Build 11360 Interwoven 20020908
ERROR:iwstart: Expected version: 5.5.2 Build 19979 Interwoven 20030518
ERROR: Failed to start.

please check it & help me out ASAP. This is a very urgent requiement.

Hema K

What version of TeamSite? Is this a fresh install of TeamSite, or was everything working before the AIX SP install? I'll ask someone familiar with the AIX platform to check out this post.

there are two problems here: #1 is the webapps problem, and #2 is the iwserver restart issue.
For issue #1, it looks like you might not have copied the webdesktst.war file into the right place. Verify that it's in the requested place (/interwoven/iw-home/httpd/webappas/webdesktst.war), and rerun the install_webapps command.

For issue #2, you must restart the system to pick up the new WFS module. This is required, due to AIX being unable to unload kernel modules.

by the way, it might be helpful to post the contents of /interwoven/iw-home/httpd/webapps/installinfo/webapps_depend.log.
