Error due to permissions of iw-home

I noticed that some templates (created by outside consultants) fail because the logged on user to TeamSite does not have permissions to certain files\dirs in iw-home.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

It might have to do with some logging or Perl Mods that the consultants have created in which the user does not have access to read or write to.

I give the users full access to iw-home but I know that’s not good. Rather than spend time on finding out which dirs or files need permissions set I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences?

This will be specific to your situation.

Areas such as

IWHOME/custom
IWHOME/local
IWHOME/iw-perl
IWHOME/bin
IWHOME/httpd/iw-bin

should at the least have read all permissions.
They would be the key ones, could be more.

If modules etc are trying to write in those locations then you might get a problem, if there isnt write access set for those users.

You need to see where the failure is before you can fix it.
I wouldnt just do a blanket fix over the whole installation to fix one problem.
