DataDeploy and Oracle
whysguy
Greetings,
Could someone help me with the steps necessary for setting up a connection between DataDeploy and an Oracle database. With MSSQL server we setup an ODBC/system DSN connection via the ODBC Data Source Administrator, and then made the appropriate configurations within database.xml file. Are the steps the same for Oracle? I mean, do we create an ODBC/system DSN connection (there is a Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle), or do we need to install a JDBC connector on the TeamSite server? If so, does the JDBC connector work essentially like the ODBC Data Source Administrator?
Thanks in advance
- Billy

DD requires a type 4 JDBC driver for Oracle or SQL Server. Check out the DD 5.6 Release Notes (April 2003 edition) page 9 for a list of supported drivers.

Thanks, but do I also need to create an ODBC connection?
