Valentine
Have anybody tried TS 6.0?
What is the version of perl in there?
Thanks.

In our TS6.0 installation on SunOS, 'iwperl -v' reports:
5.005_03
CollectorArchive.dcpackage
Valentine
Thanks.
It looks like, that perl was not updated, we have the same version on 5.5.2 SP4.
Just curious

I don't believe it has been updated in a long while, pretty sure that is the same version that was used in 4.5 and before.

According to
this post
, Perl may be updated in 6.1

It's official -- TS 6.1 will have a new iwperl distribution
based on perl 5.8.2.
There are a bunch of nice features as well, such as the clean
seperation of the 'site' and 'vendor' directories in
@INC
,
way better NT support, etc.
The only bad news is that I had to remove the DBDs for legal
reasons (MySql moved from LGPL to GPL and we no longer
license ASAnwhere). Well, hopfully it's easy enough for
folks to build their own. Maybe this can change before
we ship, but right now that's the way it is.
Anyhow, here's a module summary of everything in the new
iwperl distribution that is not already in the core CPAN 5.8.2

In addition to this list, perl-5.8.2 includes the
following as core modules that perl 5.005_03 did not:
Digest-MD5
File-Spec
File-Temp
MIME-Base64
Pod-Parser
Storable
Time-HiRes
libnet
Another nice thing: I build a complete version of the
new iwperl distibution for Linux.
Reassuringly,
iwpt_compile.ipl worked perfectly on Linux without any
modifications to the code... but... I don't yet have any info
on how/when this might get turned into a product offering.
When I do, I'll post another note on this forum.
Happy Holidays,

Cool, thanks for the sneak peak. Any chance we can get the same for the iw-specific modules?
Thanks
- Billy
