submit.cfg - propagating changes
Johnny
From what I understand:
If I make a change to the perms setting in submit.cfg, they do not get set until a submit is performed on a file/directory etc.
I would like to change perms for a particular area and have them reflected automatically.
Is there anyway of doing this?...
The only way i can think of is to touch every file and submit them again.
But I would rather not work around like that.
Is there another way?

You can use iw-mount(virtual drive y
to navigate to the files on windows explorer and change the permissions just like you do for files on windows. However this process is a bit tedious since you have to modify the permissions for each file/directory. I would suggest you to try doing this on one file and if this is what you want you can proceed with the rest of the files.

That would not help me.
It will still mark the file as modified, which is what im trying to avoid.
I dont think I can though.

Very doubtful. Smitty posted something similar a few weeks ago, if I were not so lazy I'd look for it. But I will leave that up to you.
Anyway, he asked about changing attributes (perms, owners. EAs, etc) without marking as modified. Do not think a good answer was proposed.
Two words - submit direct.
& hope you are not sending anything out you shouldn't :-)
