utf-8 encoding

HI,
All our templates use utf-8 encoding. we have some html pages in french. These files refer external javascript files that generate some french text. When we are generating the html files, all the text on the on the page displays fine except for the text that is generated by the javascript. This text generated by javascript is not catching the utf-8 encoding set on the generated page. so we see all little boxes.

Any ideas on how to display those characters properly.

well, I am still not clear what you guys do with javascript, but it looks like you are not encoding the text properly in those external files. The presentation template does not have control over anything external, so you better check what kind of text you are getting.

a little hint - print the intermediate results into log files on the way to see what's cooking
