encoding=iso-8859-1

Hi all,

I am trying to incorporate iso-8859-1 encoding on all of my forms. I am using TS v 6.0

I have changed the following files from encoding="UTF-8" to encoding="iso-8859-1":

templating.cfg
iwpt_encoding.ipl (set the default policy to return iso-8859-1)
[all] datacapture.cfg.

After these changes, my DCR's are still being written with UTF-8 encoding. Am I missing something? Please advise.

Our organization got past this by modifying the following file:

<iw-home>/local/config/iwpt_encoding.ipl:

Right around line 94:

# return 'UTF-8';
return 'ISO-8859-1';

Thanks for your response but, I had made this change already and still can't get it to work properly. What version of TS are you using?

I did see another place where the encoding is, in DCRnode.pm. (It's in <iw-home/iw-perl/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/TeamSite)

In the method get_dcr, it explicitly returns UTF-8 as well as dcr4.5.dtd. I always wondered where the 4.5 dtd came from, since we're putting 5.0 in the datacapture.cfg. Anyway, I would test that out well before making the encoding change.

Hello,

iwpt_encoding.ipl defines the output format for generated files. DCRs are stored as UTF-8 anyway. I think there is no way (up to TS5.5) to change this behaviour.

I have the same problem. TS 6.0 writes all the DCRs in UTF8 always. This is not a problem because the output pages are written in ISO. My problem is another one: has anyone a PERL module to transform ISO to UTF-8? I have to generate DCRs by PERL and I need to transform the enconding.
