Connecting Linux Clients to Windows Based TeamSite

Any one know how to set up NFS servers to connect Linux clients to read all files from Windows Based TeamSite 5.5.2 Workareas?

We used Samba before, however, those files read by the Linux clients via Samba are indicated as modified on the TeamSite 5.5.2 for Windows. If anyone know how to resolve this problem.

To avoid files get modified by Samba, we are trying to switch to NFS instead, becuase Interwoven Tech Support said Samba is not supported, thus we are forced to use NFS server. We found that the performance of the NFS server is much slower than Samba. If anyone know how we can fine tune the NFS server?
