Not certain how to proceed.

Trying Smitty's recursive file check, trying to produce a report of modified files (who, when, & how big - using iwdiff)

The profilem is that some of our files have spaces in them,
so my iwattrib fails with the usage command.

I am running:

$command = "iwattrib ".$filename." modified";
$out = `$command`;
if ($out =~ m\TRUE\) .....

Works like a champ unless the filename has a space in it.

Tips, pointers RTFMs appreciated.

Change this:

To:

my $out = `iwattrib "$filename" modified`;

Alternatives - you can setup the command string with:

    my $command = qq($iwhome/bin/iwattrib "$filename" modified);

This is useful for adding debugging lines to your code, where you can do something like:

    print LOGFILE "Running command: $commad\n";

And you can then run the command in a number of different ways:

    my $out = `$command`;

    my $out = qx($command);

Both of which should stuff the results of the command's STDOUT into $out.
If you want the STDERR too - you can augment the above like:

    my $out = qx($command 2>&1);

If you don't care about the output of the command - but only want to check its return code (assuming you can trust the return code, which unfortunately is often not the case with the Interwoven CLTs...) you can run it like:

    my $status = system($command);

There are probably about a dozen or more variants of the above that you can use depending on your needs and stylistic choices - but those shown will probably get you through at least 75% of your needs.
