Failed creating socket ??? - URGENT HELP

hello,
I am getting this error when I try to deploy my files.

ENG: 2003-12-03 14:16:45 PST GMT-08:00 Thread-68 ***ERROR - Job ID=m47Deployment=test_deploy_altlocrules
Base: failed creating socket, got null.

Tried to restart the OD server. Still not working.
Please suggest any help in this direction. Any help appreciated.

Seems the Base Server couldn't get a connection to the target Receiver. Is the Receiver running? Is it listening on the correct port? If there's a firewall, can you get through it?

you can try:

From the base server, try "telnet <receiver_host> 20014", to see if you can connect to receiver from base.

From receiver run "netstat -an | grep 20014" to see if OD is listening on that port

Replace 20014 if you are using a different port.
