Teamsite locking out users
holmes
We are running TS 5.5.2. with TSSP4 running on windows 2000 with SP 3. We are facing a problem where users are getting locked out of TS and are not able to login again till the services are reset. We are using nt authentication. Does any one have an idea what could be causing this problem.

Can you provide some more detail on what might be causing the users to get locked out? Have you checked the log files, looking for errors, or processes that might not be working properly? Does the problem seem to appear after a certain length of time or after a specific user or set of actions were performed?
Any information in these areas will be helpful.

The problem is happening once the users have been working for 15-20 minutes. There is nothing in the log files that stands out. So far we have not been able to determine a pattern.

Is this happening to every role? i.e. masters, admins, editors etc..?

Yes it is happening on every role.

Have you contacted Interwoven Support and provided them with the output of the latest version of the diagnostic script? That would be my recommendation given the lack of any clear pointers in response to your post.

If there are multiple domains in the drop list, you may be having issues connecting to one. This should show up in the logs, although you will need to know the name of your PDC. I *believe* at each restart EVERY domain is resolved. If you have 15 domains, this may take a while. If the troubled domain is far down the list, users on other domains will see normal behavior.
Check the logs for your PDC name ( you may be able to figure the troubled domain)
stop the iwov services
remove all domains except the local box (or remove just the troubled domain)
re-start services and check local users
Of course if you only are using one domain, this probably wouldn't apply.
Good luck

Yes we have opened a ticket with interwoven and sent them a bunch of log files too.

Thanks Matt but this does not appear to be a problem with just the domain. Once a user gets locked out, He/She can not log in even after "reset -a" or restarting the machine. The only way these users can log on to TS again is if we rebuild the entity database. So what ever the problem is, it is corrupting the entity database.
