modified by really weird?

nico

I've got some folders in a branch that are reading as being "Modified By" "S-1-5-21-1863606728-313013956-94902172-3"

I did a search and the only things that came up were 2 files one in iw-home/local/entities/index and one in iw-store/default/useridtoken

anyone know what the heck is going on?

win2k, ts 552

Thanks,
Nico

We get a somewhat similar situation (on Solaris though) where users have created content but then been removed from the system. Is it possible that the user which modified the content has been removed or changed domains or something like that?

In this case TeamSite is understandably unable to resolve what the uid (or W2K equivalent) should be displayed as and just pumps that out instead.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

You are correct there was an account that was deleted from our Active Directory box. Which brings up an interesting topic if an account has been deleted from A.D. Teamsite only retains this id number, what is the best practice to know historically who made the change?

Thanks,
Nico

Unless you keep records of the past UID's / SID's associated with accounts when they are changed / removed - I don't know that there is any good way to track who it was.

However, you can use the iwidmap CLT to change all files owned by such unrecognized users to be someone else (RTFM / search Support & DevNet & DevNet Forums for more info).

Under iw-home\local\entities folder, look at the index file. Search for the SID in this file. If the SID is found, then to the left of it, there will be a number (e.g. 19)

search for this number again in the file and you might find a user id associated with this number. If you know based on the user id who the person is, this is a way to find out which user id belongs to a SID. But this is not a best practice obviously.

cleanup would be to use iwidmap command as suggested below.
